About Mr. Baker
Hello students!
My name is Mr. Baker and this is my first year teaching Algebra 2 and math in general. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a Bachelors in Biology emphasizing in Neuroscience. The path I have chosen to go down is medical school. Within the next couple of years I am planning to further my education in medicine. However, having said that, I am more than qualified to teach math and a huge advocate when it comes down to it. I firmly believe that math is a tool that will be used in every day life no matter how much you try to avoid it. My background in teaching college anatomy and physiology, various biology labs, and math labs at the campus I attended have made me realize even more to an extent the importance math can have in our every day lives.
About me, I have been married to my lovely wife for nearly three years now, I have a 6-month old son and a 2 year old Siberian husky. We are definitely quite the crazy little family. My wife is a Chemistry teacher at another high school in the district and so both of us are huge nerds with a great love for science and math. We enjoy all of the new marvel movies, star wars movies, Jurassic world, and pretty much anything that is science fiction and has cool action scenes in it. I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada and my immediate family and I have progressively moved south since I was very little, spending most of our time here in the Phoenix valley.
Hockey and soccer are my two favorite sports to play and watch on TV. My wife and I are both crazy about hockey when the season comes around (I will let you know how my team is doing, it looks good this year). If you have any questions about me I would be more than happy to answer them. Below is a comment/question box that you are allowed to ask me any questions that you need to.
Lets have a great year!
